  4.     The story on so-called peace recruiters at high schools
  5. (EDUCATION, Feb. 27) included the international relief and
  6. development agency CARE in a list of organizations characterized
  7. as a "new breed of antiwar activists" that attempt to counteract
  8. military-recruitment efforts. CARE does not engage in any of the
  9. activities that are described in the article. CARE's programs focus
  10. on the creation of small-scale enterprises owned by the poor,
  11. protection of the environment and promotion of good health.
